Overview
1. Purpose
This guide summarizes water treatment plant coating and lining systems for potable-water immersion systems for steel, ductile iron and concrete (NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 600), tank and pipe exteriors, secondary containment, condensation mitigation, and the shared interior, exterior and resinous flooring systems used in plant buildings and support spaces.
2. How to Use This Guide
Start with the Quick Locator Index if you know the plant area or component. Find the applicable system in the schedule below.
If you know the substrate and exposure, go directly to the system tables and match the Condition and Typical Locations.
Use Surface Preparation, Coat Schedule, and Total Build for budgeting and work-order planning.
Contact ACC to confirm project-specific exposure, chemical service, surface condition, color coding, or full CSI specification requirements.
3. Basis of Design
Products scheduled herein are manufactured by Tnemec Company, Inc., and are listed as the basis of design for the performance, appearance, and warranty characteristics described. For potable-water service, confirm current NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 & 600 certification of the specific product and color at the time of specification.
4. Not Covered in This Guide
Architectural coatings for non-process administration/office spaces are summarized here only as shared systems; see the companion Architectural guide for the full set. Vehicular parking decks are not covered. Secondary containment coverage is limited to the chemicals listed in WW-C2.1; contact ACC for other chemical exposures.
5. General Application & Warranty Notes
Follow the current Tnemec product data sheet for substrate, ambient, dew-point, humidity, ventilation, and application requirements.
Verify dry film thickness during and after application. For immersion, lining, and resinous flooring work, consider a mock-up or field sample before full-scale application.
Comply with applicable confined-space entry, ventilation, and atmospheric-monitoring requirements for enclosed process structures.
Tnemec warranty terms vary by system and project; contact ACC or Tnemec to confirm applicable coverage.
